Spring 2011 Style Tips

J.crew Spring Lookbook Inspiration

I would describe this Spring's overall look as "Desert Safari." Coral is my favorite color right now because it works well with every skin tone and adds the perfect pop of color to every outfit. Love the look above with the pairing of a button up shirt with a patterned skirt and gladiators.

This is one of my favorite trends for Spring: pairing a loose knit sweater over a printed skirt. Beige is a great color to choose for a sweater because it will match just about anything. Its all about finding those versatile pieces that can create more than one outfit in your closet.

Layered bracelets have always been one of my favorite accessories. Start by digging into your old jewelry and finding bracelets with similar colors but differing textures. Gold jewelry is taking over this Spring so be on the lookout for wide gold bangles!

About now is the time to start transitioning your closet from Winter to Spring. The best way to do this is by layering!! Bring out your Spring skirts but try layering them with opaque tights. Also, add a colorful infinity scarf over an otherwise chilly blouse for added warmth. Notice the balance of warm and cool tones in the above outfit, this is a great example of how to add color to your outfit without getting too "Springlike" in this this 50 degree weather.

I adore the simplicity of this outfit. A loose white blouse with trouser leg khakis is so chic and effortless. To avoid feeling washed out, use your makeup to add that touch of color. Bright coral lips are a huge trend, my favorite lipstick right now is Chiffon Blush by Lancome and Heatwave by Nars (try experimenting with a lip tint if you are shy about lipstick.)
